My name is Issy Townsend, and I am thrilled to be starting my first year of teaching with Sparrows Class. I completed a BSc Psychology undergraduate before going on to complete my PGCE, both at the University of Exeter. I have come to love with Exeter area over my time studying and am so glad to continue to be part of the community by starting at Newtown.

Since qualifying as a teacher, I have been so excited to get started and create a classroom environment that inspires the children to be creative, confident, and enthusiastic in their learning.  I am privileged to have the opportunity to watch the children grow in character and independence and be part of their learning journey as they progress through the school.

I have a love for the humanities and a passion for music! I hope to bring this passion into the classroom and the school. Outside of the classroom, I love exploring the Devon coast and countryside and getting stuck into a good book.
